We are seeking a passionate and conscientious SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Chelsea Hall School. As an outstanding Independent Special School for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs, we are committed to providing the best educational support possible.
Role Overview:
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Wandsworth, London
- Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per year
- Start Date: ASAP-August (Depending on vacancies)
- Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the educational, social, and emotional development of students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Providing one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Prior experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- Understanding of the needs of students with SEN.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Additional training in areas such as Makaton, Team Teach, or Autism Awareness is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Full-Time, Monday to Friday.
- Work may involve physical activities such as assisting students with mobility or personal care.
