A specialist provision in Enfield is seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom may have experienced challenges accessing mainstream education.
The setting offers a nurturing, structured, and inclusive environment tailored to help pupils build confidence, regulate emotions, and re-engage with learning. As a key member of the support team, you will contribute to a child-centred approach that recognises the importance of positive relationships, emotional development, and personalised support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent, one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support the delivery of personalised learning and intervention programmes
- Promote emotional regulation and use therapeutic, trauma-informed strategies
- Build trusting relationships to encourage self-esteem, resilience, and independence
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads, therapists, and families
- Encourage social and academic development through targeted support
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and aspirational school environment
Requirements:
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs
- Ability to remain calm under pressure with a compassionate, patient approach
- Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
