A forward-thinking primary school in Ruislip is seeking an experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to support pupils with ASD and associated communication and sensory needs. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience working with autistic pupils and understands how structure, routine, sensory regulation and communication strategies make a real difference in the classroom. Previous experience supporting children with ASD in a school or specialist setting is essential.

The Role

You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them access learning, regulate emotions and build independence. You’ll work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement personalised support plans, sensory strategies and communication approaches such as PECS, visual timetables and structured routines. This is a rewarding role for someone who genuinely enjoys specialist SEND work and wants to see pupils thrive in the right environment.

  • Reliable and committed to ongoing work
