Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School – Romford | Immediate Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to education?

We are working with a fantastic SEMH school in Romford that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately.

This specialist setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced challenges that have impacted their education. The school provides a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop positive relationships, build confidence, and achieve success both academically and personally.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will help students regulate their emotions, develop coping strategies, improve engagement in learning, and make positive behavioural choices. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals, you will provide tailored support to help pupils reach their full potential.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, SEND, or challenging behaviour
  • Be calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
  • Be confident building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Be committed to promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and engagement in learning
  • Have strong communication and de-escalation skills

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to join a supportive school where every day presents the chance to make a lasting impact on a young person's life.
