Protocol Education are seeking a strong individual for a Pastoral Lead in a SEMH Provision in Colchester!
The school caters for students aged between 11 to 16 years, who have joined following permanent exclusion from a mainstream school or due to having medical needs that prevent them from attending a mainstream setting. The school prides itself on offering a nurturing, inclusive community where students can grow and develop, building a curriculum around their needs. They are proud that Year 11 students leave with qualifications on par with their mainstream peers and transition into education, training, or employment.
About the role:
- Create pastoral care plans for every young person at the academy.
- Provide pastoral support for the young people within the academy.
- Run interventions linked to positive engagement.
- Work with parents and carers to support the development of the young people within the academy.
- Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to lead the academy’s pastoral approach and develop appropriate interventions and approaches.
- Support pupils who have experienced difficulty in learning in mainstream schools and help them develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives.
- Demonstrate the highest quality of teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Be committed to tackling disadvantage and improving every student’s wellbeing and life chances.
- Share our determination to develop and deliver a broader curriculum for our students.
- Work closely with colleagues to produce high-quality learning resources and plan learning activities.
- Use data about each student to inform classroom practice and planning.
