We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching in line with the national curriculum and school guidelines. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, and supporting a range of learning needs. The successful candidate will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encourage participation, and promote high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons tailored to a range of abilities and aligned with the national curriculum.
Regularly assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to students and parents or carers.
Prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Identify individual learning needs and provide targeted support or interventions where required.
Contribute to departmental meetings and whole-school initiatives, supporting ongoing improvement and development.
Keep accurate records of attendance, attainment, and other relevant data.
Uphold the school's values and adhere to safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times.
Essential Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
Experience teaching GCSE Maths at secondary level.
Experience
Proven experience teaching mathematics within a secondary school setting, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Ability to plan, deliver, and assess lessons that drive student progress.
Familiarity with school routines and effective classroom management strategies.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong subject knowledge, including curriculum requirements and assessment standards.
Effective behaviour management and classroom control.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents or carers.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a variety of learning needs.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
