Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Some pupils need a little extra. You bring a lot more. We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Newcastle that supports children with autism and physical disabilities. They’re looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help create a learning environment that’s safe, supportive, and genuinely joyful. This is the kind of role where no two days are the same—but every day matters.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with ASC, ADHD, and physical needs
  • Helping to implement IEPs and adapting learning materials to suit individual needs
  • Supporting social development and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting with personal care and using the school’s hydropool to support sensory and physical development
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other TAs as part of a caring, collaborative team

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD (personal experience welcome!)
  • Someone patient, nurturing, and great at reading the room
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Confidence to support physical needs and personal care with sensitivity and professionalism

Nice to have:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or Nursery Nurse equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a school or nursery setting
