Graduate SEND Learning Mentor – Newcastle

A specialist SEND school in Newcastle is recruiting a Graduate SEND Learning Mentor to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.

Whether you’re considering teaching, educational psychology, therapy, youth work or children's mental health, this role will give you valuable experience working directly with pupils.

Location: Newcastle
Pay: £92.63–£105 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term

Your Day-to-Day

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support pupils with communication and social skills
  • Run engaging learning activities
  • Provide classroom support
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils
  • Work as part of a wider SEND team

The Ideal Candidate

We’re particularly interested in graduates from:

  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Criminology
  • Childhood Studies
  • Education
  • Other relevant degree subjects

You don’t need previous SEND experience. What matters most is your attitude, resilience and willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
