Looking for a school-based role where no two days are the same and you’re genuinely making a difference? We’re working with a number of secondary schools in Middlesbrough looking for confident Cover Supervisors to step in and keep learning on track when teachers are away. This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working with young people, value variety in your week, and want hands-on experience in a secondary school setting. You’ll be delivering pre-set work, supporting pupils in the classroom, and helping maintain a calm, positive learning environment. No planning, no marking—just strong classroom presence and clear communication.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervising classes during short-term teacher absences
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials
  • Keeping students engaged, focused, and on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour confidently and fairly
  • Supporting the wider school team as needed
