Protocol Education have long relationships with secondary schools across North Somerset, who rely on us to recruit motivated, enthusiastic Maths specialists who want to build their classroom experience, strengthen behaviour management, and connect/network with great local schools. Our schools mainly come to us with long-term roles (paternity and maternity) which can lead to permanent positions. Initial day-to-day cover allows you to create relationships and find the right school for you. Whether you’re an ECT building your CV or an experienced teacher seeking flexible work across varied settings, this role allows you to teach in schools that fit your availability and location. Our educators work anywhere between 2–5 days per week and often secure long-term roles within a few weeks.
What the Role Involves:
- You’ll deliver pre-planned Maths lessons that keep students engaged and focused.
- Teaching pre-set Maths lessons across KS3–KS4.
- Building students’ confidence in numeracy, problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.
- Managing behaviour with positivity and consistency.
- Supporting learners during tasks and explaining key concepts.
- Collecting completed work and providing feedback to staff.
- Adapting confidently to different groups and routines.
This role is ideal for Maths specialists who want to grow their subject delivery and classroom leadership.
We’re Looking For:
- Maths ECTs or fully qualified Maths teachers.
- Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum.
