Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – PMLD School – Loughton | Immediate Start Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with the most complex additional needs? We are working with a specialist PMLD school in Loughton that is looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a highly rewarding role supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The students have a combination of severe learning disabilities alongside complex physical, medical, sensory, and communication needs. Many pupils are non-verbal or have limited verbal communication and may use PECS, Makaton, sensory cues, or specialist communication devices to express their wants and needs. The role involves providing consistent support throughout the school day, helping pupils access learning activities that are tailored to their individual abilities and developmental goals. You may also support students with personal care, mobility, feeding, sensory regulation, and medical needs, working closely with teachers, therapists, nurses, and other specialist staff. Learning is personalised to each pupil, with a strong focus on communication, life skills, sensory development, independence, and wellbeing.
