Job Duties:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Severe Learning Difficulties
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to support student development
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with students with SEND
- Knowledge of SEND codes of practice
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
- Training in Makaton or other communication systems
