Job Duties:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students with Autism, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to support student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEND
  • Knowledge of SEND codes of practice

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Training in Makaton or other communication systems
