Autism Resource Provision (ARP) Teaching Assistant

Full-time, Islington Primary School ARP

Looking for a SEND role where you’re part of the wider school, but still making a big difference every day? This could be your one. We’re supporting a friendly primary school in Islington with a well-established Autism Resource Provision. They’re on the lookout for a full-time ARP Teaching Assistant who understands that structure, patience and relationships are everything. You’ll be working with pupils with autism who split their time between the ARP and mainstream classrooms, so flexibility, confidence and a calm head go a long way here.

What your days will look like:

  • Supporting pupils with autism within the ARP and mainstream classes
  • Helping children regulate emotions and access learning confidently
  • Using visual timetables, routines and clear expectations
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCO and specialist staff
  • Encouraging independence, progress and plenty of small wins
