We are working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Camden that is seeking a dedicated Early Year Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with teaching staff to help students access learning, overcome barriers, and thrive within a positive school environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing tailored learning, communication, and physical support to students
- Supporting pupils in the classroom and through small-group or one-to-one interventions
- Helping students develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
- Assisting with the planning, organisation, and delivery of learning activities
- Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Monitoring student progress and contributing to reviews and target setting
- Supporting students’ emotional and social development
- Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
- Ensuring the safe use of equipment and supporting students’ physical wellbeing
- Maintaining accurate records and attending staff meetings and training
You’ll need:
- A Level 2 Early Years qualification (essential)
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to support behaviour positively and consistently
- A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
