Looking for a role where you can step in straight away and make a real difference? We’re working with a specialist school in Gateshead. They’re looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is confident with children who have SEMH, Autism, and ready to start immediately. This is a hands-on role supporting pupils who need calm, consistent, and compassionate adults around them. The school has a strong team ethos and values support staff as a vital part of everyday success.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils with profound and severe learning difficulties and autism
- Working 1:1 and in small groups using sensory and personalised approaches
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
- Assisting with personal care where required, always with dignity and respect
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEND professionals
This role is ideal if you:
- Have experience working with children or young people with PMLD, SLD, and or autism
- Are confident supporting complex needs and behaviour that may challenge
- Are patient, resilient, and genuinely care about pupil wellbeing
- Are reliable and available for an immediate start
