Looking for a role where you can step in straight away and make a real difference? We’re working with a specialist school in Gateshead. They’re looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is confident with children who have SEMH, Autism, and ready to start immediately. This is a hands-on role supporting pupils who need calm, consistent, and compassionate adults around them. The school has a strong team ethos and values support staff as a vital part of everyday success.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils with profound and severe learning difficulties and autism
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups using sensory and personalised approaches
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Assisting with personal care where required, always with dignity and respect
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEND professionals

This role is ideal if you:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with PMLD, SLD, and or autism
  • Are confident supporting complex needs and behaviour that may challenge
  • Are patient, resilient, and genuinely care about pupil wellbeing
  • Are reliable and available for an immediate start

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
