Part-time, half-term holidays only

Looking for rewarding work that fits neatly around term time? We’re supporting a local playscheme in the B10 area of Birmingham and are looking for a Level 3 qualified Play Worker or Support Worker to support our half-term holiday provision.

You’ll be working with children aged 5 to 13, with the majority being primary school age, helping to create fun, structured days where children feel safe, included, and excited to take part.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities for children
  • Supporting children in a structured play environment
  • Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive space for all ages and abilities
  • Managing and supporting a small team of four volunteers
  • Encouraging participation, teamwork, and positive behaviour
  • Making sure safeguarding and health and safety standards are always followed

What we’re looking for:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Playwork, Childcare, or Support Work
  • Experience working with children, particularly primary-aged children
  • Confidence leading activities and supporting volunteers
  • A calm, organised approach with lots of energy and enthusiasm
  • A genuine passion for helping children play, learn, and thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
