We are working with a fantastic PMLD school in Loughton that is looking to appoint a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September.
This specialist school supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to develop their communication, independence, and life skills. The school delivers highly personalised learning programmes and works closely with therapists and families to ensure each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide high-quality, individualised support throughout the school day. You will assist pupils with their learning, communication, sensory activities, personal care, and mobility needs while helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with PMLD, SEND, or complex additional needs
- Be patient, compassionate, and nurturing
- Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care and moving and handling (training can be provided)
- Have a genuine passion for helping children achieve their individual goals
- Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
