Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Harlow, Essex Contract Type: Full-Time Start Date: As soon as possible Position Overview Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic primary school in Harlow on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment and contributing to the school’s ongoing success. Key Responsibilities As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will: Deliver high-quality lessons: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning. Support classroom teaching: Work collaboratively with teachers to support pupils’ learning across various subjects and year groups. Differentiate instruction: Adapt lessons and materials to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Provide intervention support: Lead small group interventions and 1:1 sessions to improve academic attainment and support social and emotional development. Promote positive behaviour: Encourage positive behaviour management in line with school policies. Assess pupil progress: Monitor and report on student performance, providing constructive feedback to teachers. Supervise activities: Support pupils during break, lunch, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Collaborate with staff: Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities. Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate will possess: HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification. Proven experience working within a primary school setting. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive and flexible approach to working with children and staff.
