SEMH Teaching Assistant – SEMH School – Harlow | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning and development?

We are working with a supportive SEMH school in Harlow that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

The school provides a structured, nurturing environment for pupils who may experience social, emotional and mental health needs, behavioural challenges and barriers to learning. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs
  • Be patient, empathetic and confident building positive relationships
  • Have a calm, consistent and resilient approach to challenging behaviour
  • Be able to establish clear boundaries while remaining supportive and understanding
  • Be passionate about helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence
  • Be reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a wider team

Salary & Contract

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
