Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School – Chigwell | Immediate Start Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Chigwell that is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This rewarding role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with complex SEMH needs, many of whom have experienced significant barriers to education and require consistent, full-time support to help them access learning. Some pupils may display challenging behaviours, struggle with emotional regulation, or have additional diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, attachment difficulties, or trauma-related needs. The school provides a highly structured and nurturing environment where relationships are at the heart of everything they do. Staff work closely with pupils to build trust, improve emotional wellbeing, develop social skills, and promote positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work on a full-time basis, providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils manage their emotions, remain engaged in learning, and achieve their individual targets. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment where every child can succeed. The ideal candidate will: Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour Be patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure Understand the importance of consistency, boundaries, and relationship-building Be passionate about helping children overcome barriers to education Be able to work effectively as part of a supportive staff team This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly supportive SEMH setting and make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable young people every day.
