Role Available: Specialist SEND Learning Assistant – Havering
Are you committed to supporting children with additional needs and looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference every day? Protocol Education is currently recruiting a Specialist SEND Learning Assistant to join a dedicated specialist school in Havering. This full-time role involves working with pupils who have a range of needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, and PMLD. You will support students in accessing the curriculum, developing independence, and feeling safe and supported within the school environment.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds such as healthcare, social care, residential support, or those with personal experience supporting individuals with SEND. Previous experience in a school setting is not essential, as the school values empathy, consistency, and a proactive approach. You should also be comfortable supporting with personal care when required.
Role Details:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
- Long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent
- Based in Havering
Ideal Candidate:
- Builds positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Confident supporting children with complex additional needs
- Works effectively within a supportive team
- Additional training such as Manual Handling, Hoist Training, First Aid, or other care-related qualifications is advantageous but not required.
