Your Psychology degree could be the start of something bigger. A supportive Gateshead primary school is seeking a Psychology graduate to join its team as a Learning Support Assistant from September. This role is particularly suited to graduates who are fascinated by why children behave the way they do, how they develop, how they learn and how the right support can positively influence their outcomes. You'll gain first-hand experience working with children across the primary age range, including pupils who require additional support with their learning, behaviour, communication or emotional wellbeing.

About the Role
As a Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Help children overcome academic, behavioural and emotional barriers to learning.
- Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
- Encourage positive social interaction and communication.
- Support children with emotional regulation and confidence-building.
- Help implement individual learning and support strategies.
- Use positive and nurturing approaches to support behaviour.
- Observe pupils and communicate relevant changes in behaviour or engagement.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Help create a structured, predictable and positive learning environment.
