We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistantto join an inclusive and nurturing school community. About the Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This may include 1:1 support or small group interventions, both in the classroom and in specialised settings. Key Responsibilities Provide individualised support to pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Adapt learning materials and activities under teacher guidance. Foster positive, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence. Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCPs, and behaviour support strategies. Support pupils’ emotional and social development through consistent and compassionate interaction. Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. What We’re Looking For Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (in a school or similar setting). A calm, patient and resilient attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to promoting pupil welfare. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential.
