We are working with secondary schools in Darlington who are seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join their teams on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience or build a long-term career within education.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-prepared work, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans in line with school expectations
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
- Support students to stay focused and complete assigned work
- Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and reporting procedures
- Liaise with teaching staff and senior leaders as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching or similar)
- Confident classroom presence with strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, professional and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in education and student development
- Degree-level qualification desirable but not essential
