Job Description

We are working with an inclusive school located in the Croydon area, committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all their students.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the educational and social development of students.
  • Providing one‑on‑one support to children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of each student.
  • Supporting students in developing social skills and managing their behaviour.
  • Helping with personal care tasks as needed.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with autism and physical disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Experience

Previous experience working with children with autism is essential. This can include personal experience.

Experience in a school or nursery setting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desired.
  • Nursery Nurse qualification is also preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

This advert is for a temporary position.

In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
