Secondary schools across Halifax are seeking confident, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their teams this September. This role offers valuable classroom experience with flexibility to fit around your lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lessons using work prepared by the class teacher
  • Keep pupils engaged and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Ensure learning continues in the teacher’s absence
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour with confidence and consistency
  • Encourage pupils to stay engaged and complete their work
  • Support students throughout the lesson where needed
  • Gain experience across welcoming secondary schools in Halifax

No planning or marking is required in this role; it focuses on delivering prepared lessons and supporting students.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience working with young people in any setting
  • Confidence speaking in front of groups and leading a classroom
  • Positive attitude and ability to think on your feet
  • Enjoy building relationships and helping young people succeed
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
