We are working with a fantastic secondary school in Pontefract who are looking for a confident and dependable Cover Supervisor to join their team on a long-term basis starting in September (or earlier if you're available). No jumping from school to school this is your chance to settle into one setting and really make an impact. It’s an ideal role for anyone with experience supporting young people who’s looking for consistency, a sense of purpose, and a route into teaching or pastoral work.
What you’ll be doing:
- Covering pre-planned lessons across different subjects
- Creating a calm, focused environment for learning
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policy
- Supporting students to stay on task and make progress
- Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of each day
You’ll need:
- Experience working with young people (in or out of school)
- A confident, approachable style and strong classroom presence
- Good behaviour management and communication skills
- A flexible, proactive attitude and a genuine interest in education
