We’re on the lookout for confident, flexible Cover Supervisors to work across a group of secondary schools in Telford. These schools are rooted in their local communities and place respect, ambition, and opportunity at the centre of school life. Staff work together to create calm, welcoming environments where pupils feel safe to learn, grow, and build confidence, both academically and personally. Every day is about progress, however small, and helping young people feel ready for what comes next.

If you enjoy working with young people, or you’re considering teacher training and want hands-on classroom experience first, this could be a great fit. As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in when teachers are away and keep lessons running smoothly. All work is pre-planned, so your focus is on maintaining a positive learning atmosphere and being a steady, reassuring presence in the room.

In the role, you’ll be:

  • Delivering pre-set lesson content
  • Managing behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Keeping pupils focused and engaged
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

Day to day, this could include:

  • Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Following school behaviour policies with confidence
  • Supporting pupils, including those with additional needs
  • Using ready-made lesson plans to keep learning on track

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • The right to work in the UK, passport or BRP with share code
  • An overseas police check if you’ve lived abroad
  • Experience working with young people, in schools, coaching, mentoring, or youth work
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • A calm, professional approach, even on busy days

Nice to have, but not essential:

  • Training or qualifications linked to education or child development

What you’ll get with Protocol Education:

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff
  • Free access to our CPD Academy
  • Support from a local consultant who knows Telford schools inside out
  • A variety of roles across local secondary settings
  • Clear pathways into long-term roles and teacher training

You’ll need to be able to travel reliably around Telford for this role. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
