Location: Croydon

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM - Immediate Start

About Us: We are working with an inclusive school located in the Croydon area, committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all their students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team.

Job Description: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the educational and social development of students.
  • Providing one-on-one support to children with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of each student.
  • Supporting students in developing social skills and managing their behaviour.
  • Helping with personal care tasks as needed.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with autism and physical disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children with autism is essential. This can include personal experience.
  • Experience in a school or nursery setting is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desired.
  • Nursery Nurse qualification is also preferred.

Remuneration: All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
