Are you a CBT or Child Development graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in schools while building a career in Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, Therapy, or Mental Health Support? We’re working with welcoming primary schools across Sutton, Epsom, and nearby areas who are looking for enthusiastic graduates to join their teams as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This role offers brilliant experience supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional development in the classroom.

The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupils who may need additional guidance with learning, behaviour, or social development. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
  • Assisting children with SEND such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs
  • Helping teachers deliver engaging classroom activities
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Encouraging confidence, communication, and resilience
  • Creating a calm, supportive and inclusive learning environment

This role provides excellent experience for graduates considering careers in CBT, Child Therapy, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or Teaching.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A CBT, Child Development, Psychology, or related graduate
  • Passionate about supporting children’s growth and wellbeing
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic in their approach
  • Interested in gaining valuable experience in school settings
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Previous experience with children (mentoring, tutoring, coaching, care work, or volunteering) is desirable but not essential
