Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Shropshrie.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students in Science, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the continued success of the Maths and Science departments.

Key

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support attainment.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential and developing problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives. Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science.
  • Ability to teach a Science specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices.
