Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with children before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech & Language Therapy or SEN support?
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to join welcoming primary schools across the local area. This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable experience supporting children's learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and special educational needs within a school environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. Your day may include:
Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other SEN requirements
Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
Helping pupils develop confidence, social skills and emotional regulation
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
Supporting small group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy and wellbeing
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Holds a degree in Psychology or a related subject
Has a genuine passion for working with children and young people
Is patient, empathetic and resilient
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Has experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
Is considering a future career in education, psychology or child development
