Job Title: British Sign Language Teaching Assistant Location: England, Greater London, Wandsworth Job Type: Contract, expected to work full-time hours Primary Industry: Education and Training Salary: £450 – £480 per week Benefits: Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and Pay As You Earn (PAYE) – No umbrella Qualifications: British Sign Language Level 1 (BSL L1), British Sign Language Level 2 (BSL L2) Skills: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Job Duties: Supporting the lead teacher in delivering lessons using British Sign Language Assisting students with hearing impairments in understanding and completing tasks Providing one-on-one support to students with special educational needs Creating and implementing individualised education plans for students Collaborating with teachers and parents to monitor student progress Assisting in classroom management and ensuring a safe learning environment Required Qualifications: British Sign Language Level 1 (BSL L1) certification British Sign Language Level 2 (BSL L2) certification Education: Minimum requirement of BSL Level 1 OR Level 2 certifications Experience: Prior experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant is required Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in British Sign Language Knowledge of special educational needs and strategies for supporting students( including personal experience) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications in special education or related field Experience working with students with hearing impairments Working Conditions: This role involves working in a classroom setting with students who have special educational needs. The working hours are full-time, following the school schedule. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team of educators and will have access to continuous professional development opportunities.
