A Cover Supervisor / Unqualified Supply Teacher role gives you valuable classroom experience, very employable transferable skills, and requires no teaching qualifications or experience - just the right character and confidence to work with young people.

The Role

• As an Unqualified Supply Teacher, you’ll step in when a teacher is absent.
• You’re not expected to teach new content. Your role is to lead, guide and manage the classroom.
• While you will cover a range of subjects, schools like to place you according to your subject specialism so you can apply your degree, but be aware that this is not a Teaching role - this is a classroom management role, so specialist subject knowledge is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-set work left by the teacher
• Use your communication skills to explain tasks clearly
• Keep students focused, motivated and on task
• Build positive, professional relationships with pupils
• Adapt confidently to different subjects and classroom environments

£100–£115 per day

The Ideal Candidate

• Students currently studying at University
• Strong communicators who can engage a classroom
• Calm, adaptable and resilient
• Interested in working with young people
• Experience in tutoring, mentoring, writing, drama or similar is a bonus
• Must have the right to work in the UK

To Clear, You Must Have:

• Proof of ID (e.g. passport)
• Two proofs of address
• CV covering the last 10 years
• References covering the past 2 years (all childcare references from the past 10 years if applicable)

International Candidates

You must have:

• The right to work in the UK
• An Overseas Police Check (for any country lived in for 3+ months in the last 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
