Protocol Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school to recruit a Primary Teacher who is passionate about supporting children with autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
As a SEN Primary Teacher, you’ll know that progress doesn’t always look like test scores or neat exercise books. Sometimes it’s sitting through a lesson. Sometimes it’s trusting an adult. Sometimes it’s believing they can succeed. These are the huge small victories. They might seem small from the outside, but together they change lives, and they’re celebrated every day in this school.
The role involves teaching pupils with autism and SEMH needs, helping them build confidence, develop their skills and rediscover a love of learning. You’ll need resilience, patience and creativity, but the rewards are powerful. The steps forward your pupils make, often against the odds, will stay with you long after the school day ends. You’ll be supported by a strong multi-disciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists and specialist professionals, all working together to give pupils the best possible outcomes.
About the school: The school is a purpose-built, modern SEN setting supporting up to 50 pupils aged 8–16.
