Overview
In this 1:1 role, you support a pupil with additional learning needs to access learning in a primary school setting. You build a calm, trusting relationship to help the child regulate emotions and engage with lessons, both in class and around the school. You’ll work closely with teachers and staff, applying consistent behaviour strategies and positive reinforcement. Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils who need extra help accessing the curriculum
- Adapt learning activities with the class teacher to build confidence and success
- Communicate professionally with staff, colleagues and carers as needed
- Act as a positive role model and apply school reward systems consistently
- Support pupils to develop positive behaviours and use calm strategies to overcome learning barriers
Key requirements
- Experience with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or SEN (professional or personal)
