In this role, you’ll step in for absent teachers, primarily covering Science lessons, while also being happy to support across other subjects when required. All lessons are pre-planned, so your focus is on managing the classroom and guiding pupils through set tasks. You’ll be a calm, warm and encouraging presence, while also being clear, authoritative and consistent. No teaching qualifications or school experience are needed. If you’re reliable, punctual and confident communicating with young people, we’ll provide all training for free.
If jumping in as a Cover Supervisor / Unqualified Supply Teacher feels overwhelming, our best Cover Supervisors often begin as Teaching Assistants, so you can build experience as a TA earning £93 per shift (8.30 - 3).
The Role
As an Unqualified Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes during teacher absence, mainly in Science
- Support learning across other subjects when required
- Deliver pre-set work and keep pupils engaged
- Maintain calm routines and clear expectations
- Build positive relationships with students and staff

What do we need to clear you?
To get you cleared we’ll need:
- Passport
- 2 proofs of address, such as driving licence, utility bill, council tax or P45/60
- CV covering 10 years of work and education history, with gaps explained
- 2 years of references, including childcare references where applicable
- Overseas Police Check if you have lived overseas for 3 months or more in the last 5 years
