The role

We’re recruiting a specialist Dyslexia Teacher for a permanent, part-time role in a large, inclusive secondary setting in central Bristol. This is a genuinely impactful SEND role, supporting students with dyslexia and specific learning differences to access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve independence as learners. You’ll deliver targeted interventions, carry out specialist assessments where appropriate and work closely with teaching staff and SEND teams to remove barriers to learning. The school serves a highly diverse community and has a strong, values-led approach to inclusion, equity and high expectations for every learner.

Who we’re looking for

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience supporting students with dyslexia or SpLD
  • Is confident delivering specialist interventions and tailored support
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Understands the importance of inclusion, consistency and high expectations
  • Is reflective, collaborative and passionate about SEND education

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Level 7 postgraduate qualification in Dyslexia / SpLD or Exam Access Arrangements
  • Current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate (BDA, Dyslexia Guild or Patoss, listed on SASC)
  • Strong understanding of psychometric testing and assessment data
