We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maths Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching in line with the national curriculum and school guidelines. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, and supporting a range of learning needs. The successful candidate will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encourage participation, and promote high standards of behaviour and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons tailored to a range of abilities and aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Regularly assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to students and parents or carers.
  • Prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Identify individual learning needs and provide targeted support or interventions where required.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and whole-school initiatives, supporting ongoing improvement and development.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, attainment, and other relevant data.
  • Uphold the school’s values and adhere to safeguarding, health, and safety policies at all times.

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths at secondary level.

Experience

  • Proven experience teaching mathematics within a secondary school setting, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess lessons that drive student progress.
  • Familiarity with school routines and effective classroom management strategies.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong subject knowledge, including curriculum requirements and assessment standards.
  • Effective behaviour management and classroom control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents or carers.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a variety of learning needs.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Confident use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
