Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and a genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential? At Protocol Education, we know that SEN support is one of the most rewarding and important roles within education. That's why we're looking for compassionate, skilled and dedicated SEN Educators to work in a variety of welcoming schools across Bath, supporting children who need additional guidance to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Whether your experience comes from SEN schools, mainstream settings, care environments or specialist support roles, we'll match you with opportunities that suit your skills, experience and career goals. You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to provide personalised support, helping pupils develop confidence, independence and a positive relationship with learning. For many children, the right support can transform their school experience, and you'll play a vital role in making that happen.
The Role
- Providing tailored 1:1 and small group SEN support
- Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH or complex learning difficulties
- Helping children access learning in a way that works for them
- Encouraging emotional regulation, communication and independence
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Implementing individual support strategies and education plans
- Promoting inclusion, engagement and positive outcomes throughout the school day
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN aged 4-11
- Understanding of a range of additional needs and inclusive strategies
- Confidence working both one-to-one and with small groups
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to remain resilient, adaptable and positive
- A genuine desire to help children overcome barriers to learning
Why Choose Protocol Education?
- Flexible working opportunities to fit around your lifestyle
- Competitive pay of £14.30 - £15.25 per hour
- Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella deductions
- Opportunities in both specialist SEN settings and mainstream schools across Bath
- Dedicated consultants who understand SEN education
- Free access to our CPD Academy, including SEND and behaviour training
- Long-term, short-term and permanent opportunities available
- Easy-to-use online systems and ongoing support
- £250 Refer-a-Friend Bonus when you recommend someone who joins Protocol Education
Why This Role is Different
Success in SEN isn't always measured by test scores. Sometimes it's a child communicating their needs for the first time, joining in with a group activity, or developing the confidence to tackle a challenge independently. If you value building meaningful relationships and want a career where you can genuinely change lives, this could be the perfect next step.
What We Need to Clear You
- Passport or proof of right to work in the UK
- Two proofs of address (e.g. driving licence, utility bill, council tax statement)
- CV covering the last 10 years of work and/or education, with any gaps explained
- References covering the last 2 years (including SEN or childcare references where applicable)
- Overseas police check if you have lived abroad for 3 months or more within the last 5 years
