Protocol Education are looking for a kind, patient and proactive Positive Behaviour Facilitator to join an openhearted Primary school in Bath, starting as soon as possible. This is a truly rewarding, person-centred role, supporting children with additional learning needs to feel safe, understood and confident in the classroom. You may be working with pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or other learning differences that can affect behaviour or access to learning. Every day is about helping children feel seen, supported and able to succeed in their own way.

The school is keen to welcome someone caring and intuitive, someone who can build trusting relationships and provide calm, consistent support to help pupils manage emotions, behaviour and learning. We’ve seen great success in this role from people with backgrounds in Youth Work, care or hospital settings, creative subjects, psychology or sociology.

The role includes:

  • Providing 1:1 support to pupils who may need extra help accessing the curriculum
  • Adapting learning alongside the class teacher so pupils can feel confident and achieve success
  • Communicating professionally with staff, colleagues and parents or carers when needed
  • Acting as a positive role model and using the school’s reward systems fairly and consistently
  • Supporting pupils to develop positive behaviours and overcome barriers to learning using clear, calm behaviour strategies
