Protocol Education are looking for an Intervention Specialist to work in supportive schools in Bath and Northeast Somerset where targeted support is valued, planned properly, and genuinely makes a difference.

What this role is all about:

  • You’ll be working with pupils who need a little extra help to reach where they’re capable of being, whether that’s in literacy, numeracy or confidence.
  • This may be within SEND schools, where pupils can present with more complex needs and, at times, behaviour that can be challenging.
  • You’ll be supported by experienced staff, but it’s important you feel confident, resilient and ready to approach these moments with patience and understanding.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions in small groups or 1:1
  • Supporting pupils to close gaps in learning across core subjects
  • Working closely with teachers to track progress and adapt support
  • Creating a calm, focused environment where pupils feel safe, supported and ready to engage

  • Experience supporting learning, ideally within a school or SEND setting
  • Confidence working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
