Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Learning Support Mentor to join a specialist school in Basildon. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
About the role:
- You will be working closely with students who may have:
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Autism (ASD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Your role will involve supporting students to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
Who we’re looking for:
- We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:
- Healthcare and social care
- Residential or support work
- Youth work or mentoring
- Personal experience supporting individuals with SEND
No school-based experience is required — the school values empathy, reliability, and a proactive attitude above all else. You should also be comfortable supporting with personal care where needed.

Role details:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:30 – 15:30)
