The role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and occasionally lead whole-class learning when required.

You’ll be:

  • Leading small group and one-to-one interventions to help pupils reach their full potential
  • Working closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including those with SEND
  • Building positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learning
  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting pupils’ personal development

What we’re looking for

  • Confidence leading whole-class learning when required
  • Strong behaviour management and excellent classroom presence
  • A flexible, proactive, and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their best
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be an advantage, but isn’t essential

And if you’re Thrive trained, even better. If not, we can help with that too. Protocol Education offers free Thrive training, giving you practical strategies to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and helping you build even more confidence in the classroom.

Ready to make a difference? If you’re looking for a rewarding permanent role where every day brings the opportunity to inspire young learners and support their success, we’d love to hear from you.
