Your next teaching role could be closer than you think. We’re working with a range of welcoming primary schools across Hackney looking for enthusiastic and committed Year 3 Teachers who can help children make a confident transition into Key Stage 2. Year 3 is a big step. New routines, greater independence, and a more challenging curriculum all come together, and the right teacher can make that transition feel exciting rather than overwhelming. If you enjoy building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and helping children embrace new challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

Every Year 3 class is different, every school has its own personality, but they all share the same goal, giving pupils the skills, resilience, and enthusiasm they need to thrive throughout Key Stage 2. If you're someone who can inspire a love of learning while creating a classroom where children feel supported to take on new challenges, this could be your perfect next move.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Supporting pupils as they transition confidently from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2
  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and motivated
  • Adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND and EAL
  • Monitoring progress through ongoing assessment and using this to inform future learning
  • Encouraging independence, critical thinking, and a love of learning across the curriculum
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and parents to support every child's development
  • Managing behaviour with consistency, encouragement, and clear expectations
  • Contributing to the wider school community and upholding safeguarding at all times

What we're looking for:

  • Holds UK QTS
  • Has recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally within Key Stage 2
  • Understands the importance of supporting pupils through the transition into Year 3
  • Creates engaging lessons that challenge, motivate, and inspire every learner
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Brings enthusiasm, organisation, and a supportive approach to the classroom
