Protocol Education are working in partnership with a specialist school in Woodbridge, Suffolk to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time temp-to-perm position starting as soon as possible.

About the Role

This specialist setting supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, communication difficulties and other SEND. The school provides a therapeutic, nurturing environment where every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.

As a HLTA, no two days will be the same. You\'ll play an important role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to create a positive learning environment and encouraging students to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across the school
  • Delivering 1:1 interventions and working with small groups
  • Leading learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils with SEMH needs
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional resilience
  • Supporting educational visits, enrichment activities and practical learning experiences
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

We\'re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working within education, SEND, care or a similar setting
  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, Autism or additional needs
  • Is calm, patient, resilient and able to build strong relationships
  • Can adapt to the needs of individual pupils and respond positively to challenges
  • Holds a HLTA qualification or has relevant classroom experience (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
