The role involves teaching Humanities across KS3 and KS4, delivering lessons that are engaging, structured, and inclusive. The curriculum is broad and carefully planned, with flexibility to teach to your subject strengths where possible, whether that’s history, geography, or another Humanities specialism.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Humanities lessons that challenge and inspire
- Helping students develop critical thinking, discussion skills, and curiosity about people and places
- Creating a calm, positive classroom environment where strong behaviour for learning is the norm
- Using a variety of teaching strategies and technology to keep lessons purposeful and engaging
- Differentiating effectively to support all learners
- Monitoring progress and using assessment to shape future teaching
- Working closely with colleagues to keep teaching and learning consistent and creative
What we’re looking for:
- UK QTS (or working towards it for ECTs)
- A passion for Humanities and helping students see its relevance beyond the classroom
- Strong classroom presence and relationship-building skills
- A reflective approach and willingness to develop professionally
- Commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for every student
