The Role

As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted behavioural support, build positive relationships, and help students develop the skills needed to regulate their behaviour and succeed academically.

  • Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a consistent and supportive environment
  • Help students develop emotional resilience and positive coping strategies

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people with SEMH needs
  • Is confident, proactive, and able to manage challenging behaviour positively
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students
  • Has strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Holds knowledge of behaviour management strategies
