SEMH Teaching Assistant

This isn't the easiest role you'll ever do, but it could be one of the most rewarding.

Some children need more than classroom support. They need someone who can see beyond the behaviour, build trust, and help them believe in themselves again.

If you're calm under pressure, patient when things get tough, and genuinely passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and around the school
  • Building positive relationships that help children feel safe, valued and ready to learn
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to help every pupil succeed
  • Celebrating the small wins, because they often become the biggest breakthroughs

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience withSEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour(school or alternative settings)
  • Calm and patience, even in high-pressure situations
  • Aility to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Resilience, empathy, and agenuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
