We’re looking for someone who can keep lessons running smoothly when teachers are absent, support students in and out of the classroom, and play an important part in the daily life of a busy secondary school.
What you’ll be doing
- Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence
- Communicate the work set and keep students engaged
- Manage behaviour using the school’s policies and expectations
- Register and record attendance
- Ensure resources for lessons are prepared and used appropriately
- Support students who need extra help and seek guidance where necessary
- Return completed work to teachers and pass on relevant feedback
- Help with school visits, trips and activities when required
- Assist with break, before-school and after-school supervision
- Provide general admin support like photocopying and organising work packs
- Invigilate internal and external exams
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, inclusion and confidentiality
